Compatibility issues with Classic Shell

Hi, I've recently installed Windowblinds 10 on my PC. I've got a problem.

Since I also have Classic Shell, I tried to use both together. But something went wrong

I applied a Windowblinds skin and it only skinned desktop, folders, bars and programs but not the start menu. It shows the Classic Shell style, shape, colors and fonts.

If I disable Windowblinds, I get the poor Classic Shell start menu with the customisable cascade folders and sub-folders structure.

If I disable Classic Shell, I get the beautiful Windowblinds start menu but with the native Windows 7 configuration whose folder structure is not customisable.

I don't know if that is possible, but what I'm trying to do is to have Windowsblinds skin style on the start menu but also keeping the customisable Classic Shell menu folder structure.

I hope you can help me.

Thank you in advance.

To skin the start menu, Windows 7 style, you will need Start 11 too for that to work.

Thank you for your quick reply. I'll download the Start11 30-days trial version. One more question. Do I have to uninstall Windowblinds 10 first or are they compatible and complementary to each other? Thanks again

Nope. You don't have uninstall Windowblinds 10 first as they compatible and complementary to each other.

Hi again, I downloaded the Start 11 software but it says it's only for Windows 10 or higher. Unfortunetely I still have Windows 7.

Is there a Start version for my operating system?

Thanks

Sorry, but no. The first version were for Windows 8 and were made to get back the Windows 7 start menu & other enhancements.

There is no need for start11 or any previous version on Windows 7.

The native start menu is skinnable with WindowBlinds.

I am afraid classic shell is not supported as it implements theming support poorly.

I would strongly urge you to upgrade from Windows 7 as that OS no longer receives security updates so use on the internet for example would be extremely unwise.

Thanks. Windowblinds is installed on a offline PC, no Internet connection. I only use it for fun. Actually I'm considering buying a Windowblinds version for the other machine, a notebook that I use for online activities. I'll think about.
