Start11 causing bar above taskbar

Can someone help me with this? When I use Start11, there is a green bar (same colour as my theme) above the taskbar, taking up valuable real estate. I have tried many things to fix it, and I have deduced that it has something to do with Start11 as when I disable it from running on startup, the bar disappears. I have start11 changes taskbar toggled to off in Start11 settings.

The bar is like a part of the taskbar; when taskbar automatically hides, it goes with it. If I right click it, it brings up the same menu.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information on your issue.

  1. You on Windows 10 or 11? full version number please. Use Winver.exe.
  2. Start11 version.
  3. Monitor resolution and scaling factors.
  4. Need information on what trouble shooting steps have you tried, so that we don't recommend something you already tried.

Thanks

This is because you are using an insider version of Windows which we do not offer official support on.

You need to use the beta version of Start11 (1.38) as the version of Windows you are using has an experimental taskbar which release versions of Start11 do not support.

I thought this worked for a moment because the fix works when I restart my computer (reopening from shut down)

Unfortunately, the bar shows up again when I put my computer to sleep/hibernation and it starts back up.

Can anyone help?

My windows version is Windows 11, 22H2, (OS Build 22623.125)

Start11 version now 1.39

Resolution is 2880*1800 at 200% scale

I have already tried fiddling with taskbar settings and Start11

Try this, uninstall Start11, reboot immediately, download again and install the latest V1.39 release version. Reboot again immediately after the install. Retest it and report back.

Thank you,

This should have been resolved with 1.39.  You may need to uninstall, reboot and then install 1.39

Please also be aware we do not offer official support for insider releases of Windows and yours is beta channel.

I tried uninstalling and restarting and reinstalling - the install is defaulted to 1.39 after I download but the bar is still there.

Should I try checking the option "delete settings" during uninstall and try again or should I just wait until the next major Windows update to be unenrolled from Insider?
