winget and stardock downloads

Hi

I am seeing a problem installing Start11 via winget. I think this is because Stardock are using a generic storage URL (i.e. https://github.com/microsoft/winget-pkgs/blob/master/manifests/s/Stardock/Start11/1.31/Stardock.Start11.installer.yaml#L20 ) which means the sha256 hash does not match when they release a new version (e.g. 1.36).

Could stardock either use explicit urls (with perhaps a shortcut to 'current') or update the Microsoft package file with the correct SHA sum ?

Thanks

Hello,

Stardock does not manage winget repos.

I understand that the GitHub PR may not have been done by yourselves hence wondering whether you could add the ability to link to explicit versions for download? - as this would mean the winget integration would not immediately fail when you do another release. For example, as well as https://cdn.stardock.us/downloads/public/software/start/Start11_setup_sd.exe add https://cdn.stardock.us/downloads/public/software/start/Start11_setup_sd_1.31.exe
End of rncross's quote

While I am not an complete neophyte, I need to understand better why

https://cdn.stardock.us/downloads/public/software/start/Start11_setup_sd.exe

is insufficient - why when a new version is published in that consistent format, it being different (new) is not understood when the version and file data is part of the installer file details:

We have identified how we might be able to automate pull requests and will create a project for it.   While it is not currently a high priority, we might be able to have something up in the next few weeks.

Thanks for the feedback and participation here, rncross.
