Start11 1.36

Alphabetic order

When I pin an item to Start11, I drag it into the group I want it to be, and I have to rearrange everything to get things to remain in alphabetical order. All the existing pinned items have to be moved rather than a new item finding its own place alphabetically.
Am I missing a setting somewhere and being dumb?
It can take awhile to sort everything every time I pin a new item, as something moving an item can cause all the others to move unexpectedly.
I am using Windows 10 style if that helps, but it is the same with Windows 11 style too.

Thank you in advance for your time,
Neil :-)

Hello,

I believe, there is no such option. I have forwarded your request to the Stardock Support Team for their review and recommendations. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We really do appreciate your feedback, Thanks

Thanks

Hi Basj.

Thank you for the response and the confirmation that I am not too stupid to see an option to allow alphabetical ordering of apps (are they called apps these days on a PC rather than programs?) on Start11.
I assumed that it would have been a default thing, and I have looked many times for an option to do it.
What does forwarding it to the Support Team do? Is my query a new idea to be considered, or am I one of many who have asked about it, and the forwarding is just a nudge to remind them it is an oft-requested feature?

Thanks again for your input. I appreciate it.

Neil :-)

We have a internal feature request thread where we forward any user reasonable feature request in there. These requests will be vet through by them.

I believe your request is a new one.

Thank you,

The Windows 11 style offers a manual option to sort A-Z on groups on the right click menu.  This performs a single sort.

The Windows 10 style does not offer this as the placement of items is in a grid which allows gaps etc which would make sorting ruin the layout.
