Why should i buy groupy

from Stardock Forums

1- I want to approach steam discounts to buy groupy for me the only utility is to group my office programms

2- I already installed 22h2 and well it makes groupy less useful

3- Why should i buy it? What offers groupy that microsoft not

4- Also theres a bug in groupy with microsft on, is there a way to disable groupy on microsoft? and just use it on office programms

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Groupy is not yet listed as compatible with Windows 11 (https://forums.stardock.com/505717/stardock-app-compatibility). My guess it is best to wait for Groupy upgrades which should be compatible with Windows 11 including its tabs explorer.

id glad if u tell me if i can disable that action. i mean i wanna use groupy i can tab all office programms but i dont wanna do it with file explore. Can i disable for file explorer alone?

This should work.

  1. 3 dot menu
  2. Tick "Automatically exclude from auto grouping all 'explorer.exe' windows.
  3. untick if ticked "Always show tabs for this type of window.
  4. Open Groupy setting Windows-> Application grouping
  5. Disable Automatically group identical windows.......
  6. Enable Group newly opened Windows if the Ctrl....
  7. Also it is best to set: On the Settings tab -> Option on "When should Groupy combine Windows?" Select "Only group when Ctrl is held down"

i recently figured out that the 3 dot menu u can acess from 3 dot menu. i mean if u disable from all programs. How can i get it back?.

Also about fences. there should be an option to open a file in the fence or instantly open from the source. In my case only word open my office word to see but pdf opens in the fences. Its annoying bc i like transparency fences but if i open pdf i cant read. I want to avoid extra steps to reach pdf.

Hello,

If you don't have 3 dot menu shown. ie, the groupy tab is not showing. You should group two application. Than the groupy tab is there and the 3 dot menu also should be there. Also make sure this option is selected.
