Upgrading to WindowBlinds 11 from WindowBlinds 10

On A Windows 10 version 21H2 system

Hello, everyone. I just have a question. I recently upgraded my Start10 app to Start11, since it does work on both Windows 11 and Windows 10 systems and the switch was fairly smooth with little complaint.  But I was wondering if the upgrade to WindowBlinds 11 would be worth my while and if so, do i first have to uninstall WindowBlinds 10 and lose all my saved skins, then install WindowBlinds 11 and start from scratch? I guess that's 2 questions:

1) Would it be worth it? and

2) Would I have to uninstall WB10, and possibly lose all my skins, then install and configure WB11?

Hello,
I think it best to, disable Windowblinds 10 by setting "Default theme", uninstall Windowblinds 10 reboot immediately. Install Windowblinds 11, reboot again.

Your WB skin should be untouched by these steps. But just as a good practice, backup those style.

  1. "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds\SkinStudio8\WBA" for WBA files
  2. "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds" for Extracted skins.

Thanks for the reply. That answers part of my question but I was also wondering if upgrading to WB11 would be worth it for me. Are there any improved features, for example? Would I notice a significant difference and improvement over WB10? For me to upgrade, there would have to be a good reason. I'm running Windows10 / WB10 and for the most part problem free, so it would have to be something really worth my time.

I believe there were mentioned that WB11 support for Windows 11 and also support Start11 Windows 10 and Windows 11 Start menu style. And for high DPI scaling on skin. etc. But, do you need it just yet? I can not answer it for you. You decide. Maybe later on when more and more skins release supporting those new items.

No, I really need it just yet and as you said, there are not really a lot of new skins made specifically for WB11 at the moment.
