Confused about SkinStudio Pro.

If “The only way to get the professional version (still in beta) is by getting Object Desktop which currently includes SkinStudio Professional along with WindowBlinds, DesktopX, ObjectBar, Iconpackager, WinStyles. ControlCenter, and much more.” And I have Object Desktop and my version says I’m still running SkinStudio Standard and I keep up to date with the latest downloads am I missing something or is this just an error of my SC.

Skin Studio should be SS Pro...when it starts up and the splash screen comes up, what does it say?
Version should be: 3.96d[b].002

(Love this edit button)...when you look in SDC there are TWO entries for SS...Pro and Std. Install the pro and then both will show that version .

Nope, that ain't it...go into SDC and un-install SS (2 if 2 show) and reboot. Open SDC and install the Pro version and leave the other one alone.

Do I need to uninstall the standard version first? And even if I try and start the pro version thru SC it still starts up the standard version, and I don’t see a pro version under Object Desktop in the start menu. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall with no luck.

You have to un-install both...when it's all said and done you will only have one instance of SS in Object Desktop...and it should be the Pro

When you un-install go in to Stardock Folder and delete the Skin Studio Folder

I think it just told me some thing I should not repeat here in the message board. I tried to uninstall both and neither wants to go doesn’t show up in add or remove programs list either.

When you right click on it to un-install, it talks to you ??????

gary/adam........i had the same problem and just bought up stardock central and uninstalled both versions of Skin Studio although the machine bucked a bit when i tried to uninstall the pro version. I then went into the Stardock/Object Desktop file on my C drive and dug out the Skin Studio file and deleted it in its entirety. Then downloaded the latest version of Skin Studio Pro from Stardock Central again and everything works fine.

yrag......once again you are the business when it comes to these techy probs........Ya da man !!!!!!!!!!!

I just uninstalled my SS (version 3.0.0,Build 619) and deleted the folder from Object Desktop directory. I then opened Stardock Central, which was an older version apparently because SDC had to be updated. Now that I'm connected through the new(er) SDC, the only available version of Skin Studio for download is Skin Studio Standard version 3.00.008 (dated 10/29/03).

Do I need to download and install that version before it will offer me the Pro version???

Edit: I just went back to SDC and noticed (in the menu) the option "Show Pre-Release Versions"...I selected that and am now seeing Skin Studio Professional 3.96d[b].002 (dated 10/30/2003)....is THIS the version I need to download?
