Start 11 menu transparency not working

Start 11 v1.24 menu transparency not working.

I have the menu transparency set to 30% yet the menu is solid for all styles. I have the taskbar set to 30% as well and that is working correctly.

Both the taskbar and the menu are using the 'Rock' texture with auto-colour.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Does it work without the rock texture and auto color off ?

I will start by mentioning that initially, I had the Windows 11 Pro transparency setting off. Accessability>Visual Effects>Transparency Effects.

Changing the 'auto colour' and/or 'texture' does not affect the transparency of the Start Menu. It's still completely solid; but, as mentioned before the Taskbar Transparency is working as intended.

Now, turning ON the Windows transparency setting mentioned above DOES affect the Start 11 Menu. The Start Menu transparency effect in the Start 11 settings will now work as intended and I can adjust the % of the effect.

However, isn't there always a 'however'... lol, turning ON the Windows transparency setting turns OFF the Start 11 transparency effect, that previously worked for the Taskbar, even with the Start 11 Taskbar setting set to ON.

So, with the Windows setting ON, the Start11 Start Menu transparency works but, the Taskbar transparency does NOT work. With both Start 11 settings set to ON.

With the Windows setting OFF, the Start 11 Start Menu transparency does NOT work, but, the Taskbar transparency DOES work. With both Start11 settings set to ON.

There is a conflict between the Windows transparency setting and the Start 11 transparency settings.

Cheers.

Windows 11 does not permit blur on a window when the OS transparency effects are disabled.  This is why you initially had a problem.  This differs from Windows 10 where it was allowed.  The start menu always has blur so will become solid.  The taskbar allows you to disable blur, so this is why that continued to work.

Does the problem continue if you disable taskbar textures?

Textures for the Taskbar don't seem to affect the transparency operation.

I guess the best way to have both Start Menu and Taskbar transparency is to have the System transparency set to 'ON'. That allows both Start 11 Start Menu transparency config and Taskbar transparency % solid to work.

The reason that I had the System transparency set to 'OFF' was to prevent the Lockscreen from blurring upon pin/password entry.

Oh well. I'd rather have control of the Start 11 Menu and Taskbar than worry about the momentary blurring of the Lockscreen.
