Start11 looping between taskbar and native taskbar after win ver update and start11 important update.

Have to turn off task bar to get control back

So today on my Windows 11 Home laptop, a windows feature update was applied:  version 22598.1 ni_release.

About an hour after that update Start11 installed an update.  Upon restart the taskbar began looping through native windows taskbar and the Start11 taskbar, effectively disabling taskbar functionality.  As of now I can't use the taskbar with this version of windows... Any help or suggestion appreciated

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, that is Windows 11 insider preview build. Maybe its best to revert to official stable build to get less compatibility issue with 3rd party applications.

Thanks

I received the same Beta channel update today and am not experiencing any new issues. Are you using start 11 version 1.21?

Also, I have identified a few bugs as well that may help. Taksbar auto hide needs to be turned off, taskbar transparency will not work and should be off.

The DEV/Beta channel build is still a work in progress and can still change on a weekly basis. I would not expect any third party support until Microsoft has it finished.

Yeah I actually considered that, however don't really want to do a clean install as that's what will happen if I revert now.  I've stopped updates last week, so apparently this feature release went to more than just insiders...  Thanks!

Thanks for the tips, will give them a shot after work.  I am on v 1.2....And yeah definitely aware of the insider builds.... just thought I'd post just in case someone else ran into it...

Agreed on the 3rd party support... fortunately it's not like a bricked phone! |-)

Is there anything in the windows eventlog for explorer crashing?

Ok, checked the app event log, and Explorer.exe was crashing often... Not sure this is helpful to anyone, but since I copied it...

I will check when I'm at that machine later today.... However BitDefender which usually tracks and reports crashed apps did not... and to be honest it appears that Win11 and Start11 are having a tug-o-war as to which is going to run the taskbar...   Will update post after confirming...
