Flickering wallpaper

Over the last week, or so, I've had an intermittent problem with Deskscapes 11 beta 5.

I have DS set to randomly change my wallpaper every 2 minutes and to 'Pause when a window is at full screen'.

Windows is set to turn off my monitor after 30 minutes but, it never sleeps and the screensaver is off. I don't leave programs running with windows open when I'm done with my computer. However, there are science programs that run when the computer is idle; but, they don't open windows so my desktop is clear.

I also use the same monitor for my XBox Series X switching the monitor via soft switch to the HDMI input. The computer is still running on the display port input with Deskscapes changing every 2 minutes and Windows will turn off the display port after 30 minutes.

When I'm done with the XBox I'll wake up the computer with the mouse before switching the inputs on the monitor.

After switching I'll get the Lockscreen and login. When the desktop comes up a wallpaper will display and then start flickering between a couple of different wallpapers for a few seconds before settling on one wallpaper. After this happens DS will not change the wallpaper no matter how long I wait.

This also happens when Windows just shuts off the monitor during inactivity without me changing inputs on the monitor depending on how long the monitor has been off.

I have to re-start or logout and back into Windows to fix the problem.

This problem is recent, over the last week or so. So it might be related to the beta 5 version. I never had this problem with Deskscapes 10.

My Windows version: Windows 11 Pro 21H2, OS Build 22000.588 with 16GB RAM.

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 5300 3GB VRAM, Driver Version: 21.50.02.01-220309a-377495C-AMD-Software-Adrenalin-Edition.

Cheers.

Some further info...

The science programs that run while the computer is idle are... Folding@Home, and BOINC projects Einstein@Home, LHC@Home, Milkyway@Home, and Rosetta@Home. The four BOINC projects share BOINC's time. They don't all run at the same time.

Last night after gaming and the computer had been idle for about 10 mins I noticed that DS tried to change the wallpaper. The same wallpaper flickering happened. I noticed three different wallpapers were cycling before the originally active wallpaper was shown. DS could not change the wallpaper.

As it was late I left the computer 'til this morning. This morning the monitor was off, as expected. Waking things up, and logging into Windows, I saw DS try to change the wallpaper again with the same flickering happening and no wallpaper change toke place.

I restarted the computer and Deskscapes is now working as expected. That is until the next anomaly happens. I haven't been able to resolve a distinct cause. So far I've seen this happen a couple of different ways.

Cheers.
