Taskbar bugs if auto hide is on with Start11

With Windows 11 21H2 22000.527, if taskbar is set to auto-hide and Start11 is running and the position of the taskbar is at the top of the screen, then the taskbar may not hide correctly, leaving a dark bar close to the top of the screen, and even when open, will not snap to the top of teh screen but about 10 pixels below it.

In the excerpts below, the left one shows the very top left-hand corner of the screen with the taskbar allegedly hidden, and the right one shows the taskbar shown at the same part of the screen.

Ideas?

Addition: the start menu will not show at all (the picture on the right shows the situation after the Windows key is pressed). Only the taskbar will appear. If I type in the start menu, the result is

after I have typed FIREF to get Firefox. That is, the result is that only half of the start menu is shown.

I believe this is a known issue when the taskbar is set to be on top and will hopefully be fixed in the future, so the answer above in not correct. There are several posts about the issue in the release thread : Link

I concur with that one. Reinstallation has been done yesterday. The previous attempt was in November or whenever Windows 11 came out. Plenty of reboots in between.

Rebooted. Purged. Obtained the latest file from https://cdn.stardock.us/downloads/public/software/start/Start11_setup_sd.exe. Installed. Activated. Clicked OK. Rebooted.

After rebooting, running Start11 with the DEFAULT settings, it seems to behave OK but, given the default settings, the Start menu is a legacy Windows 7 Start menu.

Now changed it to Windows 11 style, and, for the time being, it behaves. When it stops behaving, I will report again.

And now it started misbehaving again. All it needed was to run a full-screen game, specifically Command and Conquer Kane's Wrath.

I am surprised you got it working as long as you did.

To be specific, the taskbar issue started during the last Windows 11 update. Microsoft made a few updates to the taskbar that has created ongoing compatibility issues when the start 11 menu is located at the top. I believe auto hide will just need to be turned off if you have the taskbar located on the top

Thank you for that response. I know for a fact that while Microsoft is to blame for everything, the issue can be worked around, since a competing product does a beautiful job with the taskbar at the top. Given, however, that the competing product whose name I will not mention is a Russian product, it will not be one that I will pay for or install in my work computer.
