Dragging a Fence to bottom edge, it gets lost

On Windows 11 released version.

I dragged a Fence to the bottom edge of the display to see it roll up and dock. However, it is where the Taskbar is. It moved under the Taskbar and became invisible and inaccessible.

I recovered by using Start11 to put the Taskbar at the top of display.

That is normal behavior for Fences ..

Or, you can use your Fences saved layout snapshot restore function. But, interesting to see on how you drag it to under the taskbar? Usually, it will snap to your taskbar if it get close enough to the taskbar. And only move further down, if you kind like press it down further.

Hello Bas, aren't you going to escalate it? Another says it is normal, while I doubt it is the intended behaviour.

Could you post a video of your issue. For me, drag the fence beyond the task bar is difficult since it will snap to the taskbar top when you get close enough to the taskbar. So moving it under the taskbar is difficult, unless you intentionally want it to move beyond the snapping point.

I posted a video from what I see when dragging Fences down. As you can see from the video. The dragged Fences will first snap itself to the taskbar when it come close with it. It won't move further down, unless you keep dragging down.

Thank you,

Hello Bas,

Had a look at you video. It seems it is a matter of UX expectation at my side. What I did is drag the caption bar of the fence down to the taskbar, expecting it to roll up and snap. Now, I see it is the bottom of the fence that is snapping. So, what happened my first time is that I happened to drag the fence caption bar below the Taskbar and release the mouse button, not noticing any snapping behaviour of the caption bar as I expected.

I expected the snap behaviour to be triggered by the caption bar, as that is how it works in Windows.

Cannot say that the snapping behaviour of the bottom of the fence is that clear. I would suggest a (stronger) snapping animation as it comes close to the Taskbar or change the behaviour to conform with Windows.

I feel that in any case it should not be possible to drag a caption bar below the Taskbar, which is really easy in this case.

Hope this clarifies without me figuring out how to do a screen recording in Windows.
