All remote computers show black screen on Primary

I see that this subject has appeared before, but I have tried all the suggestions without success. To summarise, I have a Primary desktop with links to three secondary machines on the same wired network. If I link to any of the secondaries, I get a good connection, but only see a black screen on the Primary. All the secondaries have working and connected monitors, keyboards and mice. Sending Ctrl, Alt, Backspace, has no effect on the primary display, but I can see 'Taskmanager' appear on the secondaries.

I've tried re-installing Multiplicity and disabling most other programs on the secondaries, but nothing changes.

All machines are running recent versions of Windows 10.

Any ideas please??

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

  • Has it ever worked?
  • How many monitors are on the remotes?  If more than 1, and made to only have 1 connected if more, does it then work?
  • Do the remotes have more than one video card?

Hi Sean,

When I set it up a couple of days ago, I did successfully connect and view the screens on all three computers. This was only temporary and they were all black the following day. Two of the remotes are laptops with just their original video cards, the third is a Dell desktop with a Nvidia card in addition to the original motherboard chip. All computers have single monitors.

Regards,

Terry

Hi Sean,

I reviewed the thread and tried the fixes, but nothing worked. After some days, I tried cleaning up the registry and re-installing Multiplicity. This got the screens back from the three secondaries, but now I can't get any mouse or keyboard control on those machines. Sending Ctl/Alt/Del etc. has no effect. I'm keen to get Multiplicity working, but my trial is now running out, so it looks like I will have to go back to TeamViewer!
