Auto Grouping Teams & Outlook

Everyday I open Microsoft Outlook and Teams.  I would like the main Outlook and Teams app to auto group (just the two).  Then have the "sub-windows" of each app (chats from Teams or email messages from outlook) to group separately.

Is this possible?  If so, how?

You can create a save group in Groupy but to have teams add to it, Teams needs to not be running at all - if its still running in the systray, it would not group:

If they are part of the same process (and they almost certainly are), no - Groupy will correctly see them as the same type and group them.

I have a similar request, and note Seans reply.  I also use Outlook, and when opening the calendar or contacts it can group to the main outlook process.  I also would like emails to be a separate process.  Is it possible to group together windows with the same title in the tab.

i.e. When replying to an email the Subject is shown in the tab.  After the email Subject all emails have "- Message (HTML)".  Is it possible to group together windows that have "- Message (HTML)" at the end of the Email Subject?

If not currently available, is this something that could be brought in as an option?  Grouping windows based on part of the subject name in the tab?

Thanks!

It is being looked at for future versions.

Kindly advise if this has been sorted, or is being dealt with to allow separate grouping of the following two categories:

1. Outlook Main Window, Calendar, Contacts and Tasks
2. opened emails, tasks, contacts or appointments

This was first mentioned in 2018, in the below link, 2021 in this topic, and again in 2022.  Is this now being looked at?  Or when is the plan for a future version that will include this?

https://forums.stardock.com/490577/outlook-messages-grouped

I note that Outlook, Calendar, Tasks and Contacts all have the Window Class "OUTLOOK.EXE".

Whereas an open email, task, contact or appointment all share the Class "rctrl_renwnd32"

Surely something can be done to allow separate grouping?

We await your reply.

What version of Outlook are you using as the window class for emails, tasks and the main window are the same rctrl_renwnd32?

I am unaware of any version that ever used Outlook.exe as the window class.

Unfortunately the windows are basically identical.

This is not a bug in Groupy itself therefore, but merely a limitation of how Outlook creates identical windows.  If you ask Groupy to combine identical windows then not unsurprisingly it will group them all together.

Apologies, the Group is OUTLOOK.EXE and the class of all is rctrl_renwnd32.

Is there any way to keep the two groupings separate?

1.  The main windows of Outlook, Calendar, Tasks and Contacts as one group, and

2.  any open email, task, contact or appointment as a separate group?

Does no one have an answer on how to keep the main Outlook windows and any open email, task, contact etc as separate groups?

2 years ago, Sean Drohan, Stardock Product Lifecycle Manager, advised It is being looked at for future versions.  Has this been looked at?

1.  Is there a way to group main windows and lock those, then start another group of other rctrl_renwnd32 windows?

2.  How does the Window Caption for Grouping work?

- Is it typed words or characters in the subject line?

- Is it typed words or characters in the main body of the opened email, task etc?

- does it refer to the "- Message (HTML)" at the end of an open email window, or "- Task" at the end of an open task window etc

3.  Is it possible to block windows from joining a group?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am afraid that nothing has changed from when Neil answered this 22 days ago.
