Updated to latest Fences and all my fences are gone

from Stardock Forums

Hi,

 

I updated to the latest version of Fences this morning and after being asked to restart my PC, all of the fences I built were gone.  If I right click on the desktop and select Enable Fences from the menu and nothing happens.  I rebooted a few times and nothing happens.

My version of Fences is v.3.1.0.5

Please let me know what to do?

I'm having the same issue.  When I updated fences it broke and will not show fences.  Clicking "Enable Fences" does nothing.  The fences app opens with no problems, the fences themselves just don't show up.

Yeah, I forced uninstall (repair tool wouldn't download!) and reinstalled the download version from the link on my licences page (don't know offhand what version it is but on rebooting my desktop icons were back, I then just reloaded a daily snapshot from the backups and I'm back again too).  Still NOT happy.  I have batch files etc that I run from my desktop, which was all missing after this "major" update.  Major cockup more like........

Same situation here, but ontop of that, my desktop is stuck with the quick-hide feature hiding all of my desktop icons. I'm sure it's just as frustrating for the developers to see there customers running into these issues, but I'm certainly disabling auto-update for Stardock software.

Just checked and my installed version is now 3.1.0.5 and it says no update is available, as expected.  Seems to be working ok now, the update should have been easier though...
