Can't drag or reposition Fence

Fences can not be repositioned on desktop

Hello -

First, i hope you can watch the vid i am sending with this - i wasn't sure how to link a video so i am trying sharing it through (Google) My Drive.

To Note: I am running Windows 10 Pro, version 20H2, OS build 19042.1083 and Fences version 3.0.9.11

I am unable to move/relocate any of the fences on my desktop.

When i try to drag the fence, it won't select 'the fence', rather it will select items in the fence.

If the video isn't playable - i will try to describe further -

  • i hover over the fence
  • using the right mouse i try to select the fence and drag
  • the fence does not move
  • holding down the right mouse key does not move the fence, rather it selects items in the fence
  • to describe another way - it acts the same as it would if the shift key was held down and the mouse was used to select items.

If i am over-simplifying i apologize, just making sure i accurately describe the issue ;)

All other functionality is operational.

I have checked all my mouse settings and all is fine.

I am able to drag items around inside the fences as well in and out of fences. I can rename a fence.

Troubleshooting steps taken:

  • i have confirmed that i am running the most current version - (but not the Beta version)
  • i have restarted windows twice (sometimes that works)

I have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling because i can't remember how to create a backup. I have done that before - just not coming to me at this point. (i will continue with the backup attempts)

I would like to install the Beta version as i usually do, but again hung up with wanting a back up first.

I would sure appreciate any suggestions!

Thanks,

Michelle

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

If you right-click on your Desktop to View then scroll down

till you see Lock fences if it's checked then un check it .

Then you will be able to move or delete Fences .
