WB and Edge Save As

Hi

When you are going to fix this old error in WB? Edge Chromium in random moments (sometimes its 3-4x and sometimes its 20-30x i one day) not responding when trying to Save as file. I must run task manager and "kill Edge process"

 

Its old bug because i one year i run several Windows 10 compilations and when i uninstal WB, Save As from Edge running correct.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I am trying to recreate this issue on my system. Can you list down the steps to save as a file and does it happen on all websites? On any WB theme? Also can you give us your Windows full version numbers (Winver.exe) and WB version too. So I can set my system as close as yours and recreate the issue on my end.

I install and test different builds from 1607 to 21H1, and different WB 10.84 to 10.89. I tested various WB themes and the same. Edge is randomly not responding when Save as. But when i unistall WB or active Windows 10 theme, Edge works correct.

Ok i more test it and maybe its no Edge fault ? maybe it's Explorer ? When Edge not responding i restart explorer and wolaa i finished save file.

 

When Edge not responding i must restart Edge or restart Explorer from Task Manager.

 

Its very random bug sometimes its one or two per day and sometimes 30-40x per day. It is possible that WB does some interference from Explorer.

I agree that I have this error in Chrome and Brave.. and for a long time. Seems random, definitely not a specific website. It's as simple as hitting a download button, getting the 'save as' dialog, then the buttons are unresponsive so the dialog is stuck (even happened on Wincusto, but not every time).

But try using alt-tab to switch to a different application, then alt-tab back to Chrome/Brave (ie alt-tab twice), and the 'save as' dialog buttons return to being responsive. Saves you having to restart explorer. (Can't speak for Edge. Dont' us it.)
