Creation vs. Evolution

Creation vs. Evolution

I thought I'd pre-empt this discussion before Kona's comment in the other thread sparked it off there. There is concrete proof that we evolved, but no proof that we were created. What's you're opinion, and why?

To quote Phoebe from Friends: "I guess the real question is who put those fossils there and why?"

The theory isn't proof, but the documented evidence is. It's one thing to state something as fact, but another thing entirely to back it up with evidence.

When all the laughter dies in sorrow
And the tears have risen to a flood
When all the wars have found a cause
In human wisdom and in blood
Do you think they'll cry in sadness
Do you think the eye will blink
Do you think they'll curse the madness
Do you even think they'll think

When all the great galactic systems
Sigh to a frozen halt in space
Do you think there will be some remnant
Of beauty of the human race
Do you think there will be a vestige
Or a sniffle or a cosmic tear
Do you think a greater thinking thing
Will give a damn that man was here

That documented evidence was written by man. How is it concrete? It is NOT and never will be.

You said yourself that the bible was written by man. You're talking yourself into a smaller and smaller corner here Kona.

I also said the bible was written by man with GOD'S words! I see no small corner.

I only see people here who refuse to accept there is a God and therefore have to cling to mans version of the facts and fear. Pathetic.

Evolution is right in front of us. We don't need to read about it, we can see it for ourselves. Today you are using a pc, 30 years ago they were sci-fi. A simple example of man's evolution in the same way Stone Age man developed bronze, Bronze Age man developed iron and so on.

Denying evolution is the old stick the fingers in the ears and shout 'nah nah nah, I'm not listening' syndrome. Go ahead, bury your head in the sand. But as long as you do that there's a real world out there you will never understand.

So let me put this to you. How do you know that Darwin wasn't simply writing God's words when he wrote the theory of Evolution? Maybe God wanted us to know the true origins of our species because he was tired of getting all the credit. Except his plan backfired and the Christians all denounced Darwin's theory as madness.

Grayhaze:
The only words GOD wrote are in the bible. In the end of the bible it says None shall and on to this book. that means NO ONE shall add on to the bible. So I know that Darwin was not writting the words of GOD.

Darwin's works are madness.

Fuzzy:
That is not evolution. It is called progress. Evoulution is defined as a single cell animal devloping into a complex organism.
We were created and thats all there is to it.

BTW where is this proff you speak of?

Whats next? you all gonna say abortion is not murder?

Kona's belief in God is not questionable....what can be questioned is the eficacy of 'fact'.

Let's face it....all a 'fact' is is an assumption that is yet again to be disproved following further analysis.

Kona...you are free on this planet to believe any interpretation of 'fact'....just don't expect everyone to concur.

Those who believe an alternate 'fact' are equally allowed their alternate view.

A debate is never about FACTS...it is about perception/interpretation of experience/s.

I always view the bible of a collection of sensationalized tales.  Living
by its words would be like living by the words of Canterbury Tales.  If
somebody can prove that the bible is anything but that, then I will
listen.  I can not live by blind faith.  I have been put under for
operations too many times to believe in life after death. I *know* what that is
like- there is no pain, there is no sorrow, there is no hunger (sound a bit
familiar?)  That is because there is nothing....

Java don't laugh at me but I am the biggest baby when it comes to pain and one time I had to go to the dentist for a filling or something (this was in the past I never let them put me under for anything now) but this one time I remember I went to the dentist for my check up and had a cavity and I told the Doc to knock me out or he ain't touching me... hehe

so he gave me some kind twighlight sleep gas or something and it was one of the worst things I have ever experienced cuz I was only knocked out to the point of not being able to move or open my eyes! but I could still "hear and feel" everything, him talking the radio in the background and the pain of him filling that stupid cavity! hehe

to me Hell would be like this you would die and have all your senses and be forever in torment.
whoops sorry me got side tracked what I was trying to tell you Java is that I had the opposite experience w/ being put under.

I don't think that is Evolution. Human beings having new toys is not a hujman being who used to look like a 4' 8" hairy creature.

No one has seen evolution.

The very same Bible that man write is the very same science that man is writing.

Here's something for you all. (I have 1 thumb on my left hand.) (There is a God who created us.) At this very moment in time which of the two statements do you have more knowledge, supporting facts, supporting evidence, theories, hypothesis, perceptions, interpretations, etc?

So, if evolution is true, how did it come to pass that those first few "life forms" evolved into grass, trees, flowers, vegetables, fruits, etc. and some evolved into the "animals" (dogs, cats, horses, pigs, kangaroos, etc)
Sound just too fantastic and way too many "accidents" and "coincidences" to believe.
Nah. Actually the story is very simple. God lives for ever and he just didn't know what to do with all the time he had. So he designed the millions of life forms one by one.

I knew that.

I think that is the result of sin.

bordfryr, to understand that, you'd have to understand how a cell is made. And explaining that would be way too boring. Lets just say that there really isn't that much difference between a plant cell and an animal cell. They both have a nucleus in the center, within which there is DNA. But the funny thing is that plant cells have everything an animal cell has and more: cell walls and chlorophile. The cell walls is because plants don't have a skeleton (neither inside or outside), so the cell walls ensure that plants can stand straight. Mainlym that's the only difference between a plant and an animal. It's not too hard to imagine millions of years ago, when the sea still covered 100% of the planet surface, that simple lifeforms (one cell, or few cells) could have mutated into two groups.

Hey, that kinda reminds me, did you know that cetaceans (sea mamals such as whales and dolphins) are actually thought to have been land animals that went back in the water? Guess what the ancestor of the whale is thought to be? The wolf. Funny.

yeah let's not bring what "we" are creating lets keep this on what God has created (much more betterrrr) hehe

Kona I have to disagree w/ you it's the Seahorse! nothing on earth compares to them...
