All desktop icons gone!

I'M Screwed!! Please help.

Logged on to windows this morning to find that all of my desktop icons are gone. The fences are still there on the desktop, but all files are completely gone. 

Unable to find any of my files by searching for them. Attempting to open any files using app "recent files" option brings back an "Item not found" error. I can't even begin to describe how fucked I am if I am unable to recover my files. I had files I have been working on for months sitting on my desktop. I use fences because it made it easy to organize my work flow. Not being able to find these files will cost me my job. 

If anyone else has had this issue and found a solution for it. Please share how you fixed it. I've already uninstalled fences hoping that it was just a display problem, but it isn't that. Everything that was on my desktop is completely gone from my system.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. There were few reports on this, which usually because Desktop Sync to OneDrive, this does not work with Fences since Sync too OneDrive will move all the desktop icons into OneDrive folders. From what I understand, you will need to stop the Desktop Sync to OneDrive and manually copy all those desktop icons back to desktop.

Thank you sir! This is exactly where the problem is. I have spent the last two hours after reading your reply trying to uninstall this garbage from my system. At least I had a good laugh when I searched for OneDrive in system settings and the only thing it came back with was "Ransomware Protection". 

Thank you so much for the very speedy reply. Fences is one of the most useful apps I have running on this machine. As a long time user, I was afraid I was going to have to stop using it. 

Now, back to getting rid of this OneDrive crap!
