Can't install Fences 3 on Win 10

'Operation cancelled due to restrictions'

Hi all,

I ran the 30 day trial then decided to purchase Fences 3, used the provided serial which didnt work (copy/pasted & typed to make sure) regenenerated serial again and didn't work.  So, I uninstalled and re-downloaded F3 install file but when I go to install, I am greeted with "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this computer, Please contact your system administrator"

I have tried to run in admin mode, changed all security permissions to allow and it still won't install. I have aslo used windows compatibiIity troubleshooter and have re-downloaded several intall exe files incase of corrupted download, so, I'm now out of ideas, please help?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows version, please use Winver.exe to get your full Windows version numbers.
  2. CPU on your computer. Intel, AMD or ARM?
  3. Is the computer under special security system?
  4. Did the Fences trial run on this system without issue before?

No security I'm aware of

Hello,
Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling  The purge is to remove old installation including the trial.Reboot after the purge.

To reinstall, just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

Reinstall in it default directory, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Hi Basj,

Followed steps, tried several times to no avail, also tried installing earlier versions ver1 works but from v2 up,  presents the same message. Purged again and same problem.

Need to know what anti virus you have on your system and also please try the cleanboot steps as mention here :

https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#cleanboot. Try that and report back.

Created new local account with admin rights and it installed|-)  k6   deleted new account and all good! thank you.
