Windows Explorer Spinning, Crashes - Fences Never Loads Icons on Startup
After a reboot, Fences 2 and 3 both cause Windows Explorer to never fully load and crash.
I have had Fences 2.x for a long time. Recently, upon my weekly reboot and upon my login, Fences wouldn't load my Desktop icons and the Windows Explorer mouse cursor is a spinning circle for many minutes. Eventually, after 20-30 minutes, Windows Explorer would start working, but Fences would not load. I lived with it for a few weeks. So, I found a forum here that mentioned upgrading to Fences version 3 to fix any issues with Windows 10. I bought it as part of the Object Desktop pack. Now, same problem but slightly different.
Now, when I reboot the computer and login, Windows Explorer loads but I can't do anything with it. The mouse cursor is a spinning wheel when I hover over most areas of the Taskbar or Start Menu. Any type of click causes Windows Explorer to crash. Fences loads my "Fences" but there are zero icons. After forcing Windows Explorer to crash and reload about 8 times, Windows Explorer sometimes comes up but not be fully functional. It takes awhile.
Uninstalling Fences corrects the problem, so it seems to be a Fences issue. Only changes to system have been Windows patching and security updates. I want to use Fences but it is causing my system to be unusable.
How do I fix?
