Blinds configuration from Object desktop

does not work

Hello,
I have installed Windows Blinds via Object Desktop(OD)and managed to configure a skin and a preset. However, after running with the new preset for a few days I had to reboot, and Windows opened without the skin. Going to OD and clicking configuration, the style is shown but clicking Apply to desktop returns a message:
"WindowBlinds does not appear to be installed correctly on your machine. Would you like to try to fix this issue now?"

Whether I click on "yes" or on "no", nothing happens. I uninstalled and reinstalled Blinds, from OD in Admin mode, yet the problem persists.

Can someone suggest what to do now, and also, how to ensure that the skin survives a reboot?

Win XP Retro.wba
is the skin I used, and it is the only one that shows up when I click in Object Desktop. I also have

eXperience_Release.wba
but no apparent way to try it, double clicking it results only in a(windodws?) message to click on, and again that message goes away without doing anything.

Thanks and regards
Emil

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Before we start, we need to know more on your system and issue.

  1. Windows version, please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.
  2. Windowblinds version.
  3. Type of Antivirus/malware/security software installed.
  4. After the first installed did you reboot your system before applying the style?

Thanks

Hi, this is a pretty fresh Windows 10 installation and I _hate the UI  X|

1. Windows 10, Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.804)
2.ObjectDesktopManager.exe 4.1.7342.25505 Build date 2020-02-07 01:22:03
3. Windows defender, EsetNoD32, latest version

4. No, I think it says reboot _after? Plus, after I unistalled Blinds and re-installed them, I _had to reboot, and then could not apply anything.

Thanks for responding.

Regards  Emil

Great,

Thanks for the information. I believe its the Eset is blocking Windowblinds. Please use this guide : https://forums.stardock.com/486023/windowblinds-support-faq#notinstalled . Try that and report back.

Thank you,

Hello again, I am back a happy camper, followed the instructions in the link and it works. Thanks a million.

May I just ask, will the skin survive a reboot, or does one have to do something else to keep it? Eset will keep the rule, that much I remember, but will windows remember the skin?

Thanks and regards    Emil
