how can i capture a picture from a video?

please don't tell me the "Prt Scr" key, it won't capture a video frame

Movie Maker in XP lets you capture frames and save.

what is the video? and mpeg or quicktime type file, or a dvd?

Click pause when you have the frame you want and then click 'take picture' icon in lower right.

There's an image viewer program called IrfanView that will play most videos and, if I'm not mistaken, export all the frames to bmp.

well if your using a dvd, which is hard to get a pic taken from, try nvdvd, it doesn't take big pictures but what the hey, at least it's something, program isn't free though so whatever ya know.

let the video runn full screen and then press the 'print screen' button (next to scroll lock and pause)

Theres a number of multimedia progs out there that have that option. Try a google search for Media Converter.
