Fences cannot be removed from desktop

I have done everything I can find online to get rid of old fences. The program is gone but I still have old fences on my desktop. I have used the .bat file, it did nothing I reinstalled Fences, as an administrator, and then used the uninstall program. The program is gone again but the fences are still there. I installed Fences, again as an administrator, then created some new fences. When I right-click on them I get a menu that includes "Remove fence" the old ones that are there do not have that, all I have available in those when I right-click is "Appearance", "View", "New",  and "Lock" and in each of those, there is no choice to remove the fence. If I lock them then I only get the choice to unlock them. I used the .bat file and it removed the newly installed Fences but it left the old fences on the desktop.
