Changing Skin Colors Problem

Microsoft!!!!

Had a post on my Trance skin where a user said that when trying to change the color to red, it came out more as pink.  So I just checked several skins, not all mine, and the recoloring area is not working correctly, color selections are not looking correct at all, the colors are way off no matter what you do. I never use recoloring personally so I did not know about this until now. The only thing I can think of is that Microsoft made some changes in Windows 10 20H2, or recent updates, that screwed things up. Anyone else on 20H2 noticing this? :-(

This has been a problem even before 20H2. I recolor a lot and this issue has always been there.

Recolouring works on hue shifting.  In the case of trance if you hue shift the blue bits on the left border you will never get solid red, only a pink.

Things are working as designed.

But this happens on a lot of skins Neil, on some you select a color and nothing changes, especially if you select red. You have to uncheck 'Use smart recoloring' to get any color to work on many, many skins.

End of LightStar's quote

You can also leave "Use smart recoloring" enabled, go over to the right, uncheck "Automatic" underneath "Range of colors to apply to", then scoot that slider to the right a little.  Gives a different result, less of a blanket effect.

A good skin to watch that on is your Vintage G.

To interject a little more, Some do recolor better than others. I believe some in the factors of skin itself. Solid colors recolor well whereas gradients not so much. Gradients kinda use the color in multiply mode on color selections in PhotoShop.
