Restore snapshot not working after switching from monitor to Rift s and back

I will upgrade my graphics card in the near future, but for now I'm on a RX 470 that has a 1440p monitor connected on the DP and two 1680x1050 monitors on the DVI ports. When I use my RIFT S I disconnect the DP port and plug in the RIFT. When I'm done playing I disconnect the RIFT and plug in the 1440p monitor again.

At this point my fences and icons are all over the place. When I try to restore with 'restore snapshot' none of the snapshots are restoring. I have the feeling I can see the icons 'jiggle', like Fences is trying to do something, but they're not moving to the correct spots.

When I do a (cold, haven't tried with warm) reboot the functionality is restored and I can put my icons back where they belong.

There are icons on the main monitor, and there are fences+icons on one of the DVI monitors.
I'm on the latest version of Fences.
