A question for Jafo or anyone about Lite Step

Litestep was invented to replace the Explorer shell in Windows. No reason it shouldn't work with ME.

yes, I gues it works in ME, (after completion, the first thing to do is to reset your pc, dont start it manualy.... believe me kona, you dont wanna do that)

Yes...runs on all 32 bit Windows versions...from Win 95 to XP, including NT.......if you need a shell for Win 3x then Calmira is it...

Oh and I want to know if I use Litestep as the shell, can I still run all the Microsoft apps and other programs that ruin on Windows (like AutoCAD)?

no, LiteStep never ran on Linux. Open Source is not OS related.

what do you mean you want something to skin Linux? all major Window Managers/Desktop Environments are skinnable and there are DesktopX equivalents for both KDE (Karamba) and Gnome (gDesklets).

let me know what your main desktop on Linux is and i´ll show you where to get that stuff.

once again: LiteStep does not run on Linux. that´s not the way to run Windows apps on *NIX. you need WINE or easier CrossOver Office http://www.codeweavers.com/products/office/

Joe....LiteSTEP will 'run' any Microsoft application...even 'Explorer.exe'....the only problem/s you will encounter are with certain games which call explorer [as shell] to access in-game configuration screens.....otherwise all proggies will work...

the lsts theme switcher should be able to switch u back to exploer without restarting, and on the linux question, i wouldnt be suprised if there is one out there, but u dont see many os ports on the LS scene

On the subject of Litestep... its cool but I can't run it on my PCs- just too flaky and time-consuming.

The thing that I really liked about it was corner activation. Is there currently any way to have this in OD? I would like to have DX or OB menus and bars pop out when I put my curser in the corner only, instead of having the whole edge be a autohide activation.

How about this: Is it possible to recreate the Simplicity theme (the default Litestep theme in the LS installer) in OD? This should be a goal, because that theme was awesome and had some really great features. (It allows you to between multiple virtual desktops by putting your mouse in the upper corners, and showed tasks as icons in the taskbar, but pops up a full task list when you put your mouse in the bottom right corner, and it looked cool)
