Desktop Architect

What ever happened to Desktop Architect? I have a old copy of it that I still use to this day with my Windows XP theme.

I like it because it shadows the desktop icons, makes the boxes around the writing on the desktop transparent (I know Windows FX does this to) it skins the taskbar and all windows and is easy to use without hacking dll's

Where can I find more skins?

I used to use that. It didn't so much skin the taskbar as it did color it. Last I looked the website was still there. http://desktop-architect.com/

I use DA to change sound schemes. It's so much easier than fidling with XP.

........., we were informed that the programmer who originally created Desktop Architect (Ken Foster) stopped updating the program and closed down the DesktopArchitect.com website. We still feel the program is very good for use with desktop themes but take special note that the domain name DesktopArchitect.com has since been purchased by an unknown owner and now leads to unrelated material. This is just one of those things that happens when a domain name goes on sale. Again, it's still a very good program for desktop themes but don't try to go to the original DesktopArchitect.com site for technical support. Here are screen shots of the links in the program you should disregard.






The program does not contain any spyware or adware. Simply avoid the DesktopArchitect.com website or any links to it and you're all set.

OMG! I remember that proggie... I probably have it backed up somewhere, in an old disk. I used to like it, haven't used it since I got XP. I never thought about using it for the sounds, hmmm will have to look into that. Naturally I used Stardock --and once in a blue moon I'll whip out Style XP.

/me needs to get back onto the designing ball, haven't done anything in a while--she's gettin' the itch to try her first skin but I'm skeered

? Thanks for the tip! I knew about the app from my W98 days but never tried it so I didn't think about using it in XP to more readily change sound schemes. Neat.
