Problem with two screen setup (Win 10)

I am experiencing problems in a setup with two screens under Windows 10.

From time to time, e.g. when coming back from sleep (the screen, not me), there is apparently an invisible fence in the top part of my main screen (not 100% sure that it is actually a fence, that is my interpretation based on what I experience).

Once this happens, I cannot anymore operate the menu bar of any application that is full screen, and neither can I move the application to the other screen.

This is highly annoying, as you can imagine, and playing with the fences options I could unfortunately not find a remedy for it.

Sometimes icons that are parts of fences suddenly appear somewhere on the desktop after such an incidence. Moving all fences to screen 2 didn't remedy the problem either.

Any hint would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards,

Stefan

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

I did as instructed, however, the problem is not solved.

The problem never manifests after reboot, but only after the screens are awakened from power-save.

There is a blank bar at the top of full screen applications that permits using their menu. The bar can only be seen when an application is full screen, and does not affect all kinds of applications (it appears for example in Firefox and Adobe acrobat). The bar represents desktop background or a misformed fence. Right click into it shows the desktop menu, including configure fences.

Any feedback highly appreciated,

Stefan

Hello,

I do not think that blank bar is an empty fence, since, if it is a fence, right click on it will not show a desktop menu etc. How are you sure this is due to fences?

Hmm, if I right click into a fence it does show essentially the same menu as if I right click on the desktop (except for the additional Sort Fence by option). I was assuming it is a fence because the problem started to appear when I connected a second screen, and was connected to fences appearing in the wrong place, and icons from fences appearing on the desktop after I tried to operate the behind-the-bar menu. It's a weird phenomenon.

Cheers, Stefan

With Fences installed, you will always have those optioned when you right click anywhere on your desktop. Anyway might help us to understand you issue better if you could post a video capturing this issue and post it on a video sharing site like youtube or file sharing site and share the link here.

Thank you,
