Fences items locked with an X

from Stardock Forums

The icons for my desktop items such as PDF's etc many have an X in the lower left corner and I cannot click on them.

 (They will not launch) as a check another icon that was a PDF type does launch...but it had no X on top of it. Since most of these were associated with the same fence I thought it was fences causing this. How do I get rid of the X?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information.

  1. Your Windows version. Please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.
  2. Fences version.
  3. If you disable Fences does the "X" appear on those icons?
  4. A screenshot of those icons.

To disable Fences, Un-tick that box.
