How to determine damage & DPS per weapon point?

how much damage for kinetic vs beam vs missle

Hello, I've been searching all over for a list of the damage values done per weapon for kinetic, beam and missile weapons, but haven't been able to find them. How much damage is done per hit on an unarmored ship? I'm trying to calculate DPS for the different weapon types. One would think that a weapon with a slower fire rate would do more damage to make up for the less amount of hits. Do beam and missile weapons do more damage?

If someone could give a link to a comprehensive weapon guide that, that would be great. It seems like missile weapons fire first and then kinetic and then beam? I could be wrong on this one. Do they all fire at the same time if their target is in range?

Overall goal is to construct a fleet launched very early in the game to quickly wipe the board. My last attempt was using all interceptor ships (mostly tiny size) with mid-grade kinetic weapons, but there's got to be a better way.

Thanks for your help.

Check the games .xml files for specs on weapon fire rates and base damage. Be aware that several tech advances & precursor events can increase fire rates and/or base damages for normal weapons or add unique weapons.

For an early game fleet try using a combination of undefended Capital ships with best weapons and a 2x set of escorts with appropriate defense and some attack. Enemy fleets will go after the escorts first while the capital ships get "free" shots on the other enemies.

As your escorts get tougher you can reduce the ratio to just 1 escort per capital ship. The ships can and should be both the same size at tiny or small early game to fit reasonable fleets within infrastructure limits.
