My experience with the demo
Hello,
Tried the demo today, here is some feedback:
Didn't look too long if I could uncheck this, and I probably can unsubscribe later, but it seems like you have to subscribe to receiving info from Stardock in order to try the demo.
That leaves a bad impression right from the start. At this point you want something from me as much as I want something from you, so don't be so pushy, please.
Liked the folder portals.
Liked the ability to have different desktops, but would love to see a constant tab like interface with labels for faster switching between numerous desktops. That would solve some of my other gripes as well.
Didn't like that there is no option to place icons in the fences freely like on the desktop.
Would like to see a menu like option where if e. g. several big fences are arranged vertically, opening (rolling down) one would close others in the menu and the open one displaces the closed ones so you can directly open any of them at any time. Right now opening one can hide others and you have to first close it or move the mouse away to close them.
Nested fences would be a great plus as well.
Unfortunately one or both of my desktop backgrounds (solid color) turned black now an then.
Windows Pro V 2004 (Might have several reasons, of course, but usually not something I encounter)
In its current state Fences is not for me, I'm afraid.
