Fences3 just stopped working when I changed monitors

I had 2 Samsung monitors that I had been using Fences3 and other Stardocks software on for years without any issues. I just bought 2 samsung U28E850R UHD 4K monitors to replace my older ones. Since I hooked them up Fences3 no longer works?  has anyone else had this issue and is there a fix for it?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Do you have Monitor management software installed? Such as "Easy Setting Box" by Samsung? If you do please try disable them and see if that help? Make sure to reboot before testing it. If it does not work, try uninstalling it and test again.

Thanks

My monitors didn't come with any software and I didn't try to download any. I thought if there was software needed they would have included it. There is software that allows me to turn my monitors in portrait but I don't use it so I didn't download it.  Since my first post I have been searching and it seems that Fences have stopped working on others who have 4k monitors. I would think Stardock would address this

Sorry, but I am running my Fences on my LG 4K monitor without issues. But if you are running on multimonitors you should refer to this guide : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#multimonitor

And you should also try the purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

Just make sure to reboot after the purge. Reboot again after the re-installation. Retest and report back.

Thank you,

As I said I had been running Fences3 with dual monitors for a long time with no issues. It was only when I connected my 2

Samsung 850 Series 28 inch 4K UHD 3840x2160 Desktop Monitor for Business monitors.  I ran the purge and the latest version of Fences3 I have is Fences 3 3.08.1, my subscription has expired and I don't want to buy it again not knowing if it will work or not. Should Fences 3 3.08.1 work still?

Sorry for the bold I copy and pasted and the rest of my post was in bold.

Thanks

Hello again,

Please tell us more on your monitors setups.

1) Resolution on all monitor and scaling applied to all of them.

2) Windows version, please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.

3) And also please include more details on what don't work. Does any error pop up?

Thank you,

 Hello,

On your last reply with the purge steps I decided to follow the purge and didn't go into the multi-monitors since I used fences 3 with dual 24" monitors for years without any issues.

After the purge and reboot I installed the last version of fences that I had downloaded before my subscription had expired and now everything is working normal without any issues.

Thanks for all your help

Ron

Fences has conflicts with Dreamscapes. Uninstall Dreamscapes restart and your issues will disappear. Ill be posting a video highlighting this conflict sometime soon. I spent hours nailing this down.

You can purge all you want, not going to help until Dreamscapes is not running in unison with Fences. All we all hear is purge fences, purge fences. Instead of the developers actually taking the time to address the registry issues, multiple duplicate instances and un-proprietary dependencies.

IMO Fences is in a class of professional grade software, and should be treated as such. However, right now fences falls in-between professional and novelty.

Fences probably needs to be rewritten from the ground up with its own platform far far away from any other stardocks software using shell. Its almost like fences was bought out and a new programmer came and and started laying his code on top of the old code. also.... Sure namespaces and shell exts are cool and flexible with with windows explorer. However with a software like this, she needs her own playground. Give her room to stretch her legs so to speak.
