Icons Missing

Some icons that Windows File Explorer correctly shows as being in my desktop folder are not showing anywhere on my desktop - either inside any of my fences or outside them. I've tried going through the steps in the only page I can find about this, even though the interface looks nothing like the interface Fences 3 shows me. Before I give up on fences, is there any way I can get those icons back?

Have you tried restoring from a " Snapshot " see below..

The missing files have never appeared - they're not in any snapshot.
