Hello everyone,
Im using fences 3 trial now and I'm loving it. Do you think the old public free version is alsmot the same or fences 3 is way superior? What are the improvements of fences 3 over free public one?
Also here are my feature requests for Fences:
folder portal fence does not sort folders automatically when I create a new folder, it does only after I click a child folder and go back
but dropbox portal automatically does..
on regular desktop documents I create was being aligned before I had to name them
but on fences they get aligned after I name it, when I first create a document it's in an abrupt position, so could you first align it then prompt user to name it?
back arrow on folder portals should have a fixed position, its position should not change with the length of the file name for
ease of use and habit, even better than that you could add vertical tiles to both left and right hand side for users to click to go back and forward which would be more classy
do you have an automatic backup of folder names, item content and settings and rules so that upon fresh install I can just install fences and even without clicking restore, it recognizes my Microsoft account and prompts me if I want to restore old windows fences al settings and content...
when I view folder portals by "list" there is only horizontal scrolling, could you also add vertical scrolling option?
when I view by "list" and "detail" and click on the empty space, it selects folder, so to double click to open folder, I need to resize the folder portal to go beyond file names to create an empty are to double click on and open the folder, so could you have an option for user to be able to double click to open folder as long as user does not click along the area of file name? in short if there is empty area beyond file name it should not select file but select empty space of the folder so that double click will open the folder..
now one can resize a fence to be on top of the other, maybe you can prevent it as I dont see why would someone drag a fence and stretch it over the other?
resizing fences and folder portals should have auto snap feature like sony vegas clips have with each other vertically and horizontally. no snapping? add snapping feature to folder portals. In other words whenever whatever the size a fence or folder portal is, when I resize the others close to them it should auto snap to their position...

there should be a search function on folder portals and hitting the search should open explorer searching my entry of search...
when there is a folder portal linked to a folder on external disk, when the disk is unplugged, it should make the folder blank and collapse it as in roll-up mode
when it is plugged it should start showing the files on the folder portal right away without the need to double click on portal folder to refresh and start showing file list...
when I change folder name and/or change its location that a folder portal is linked to, it should not result in portal being disconnected, fences should auto-update the folder's new directory upon its new name and new location.
