Fences get condensed

from Stardock Forums

I just installed Fences on my laptop that has a second screen, but when I "Sort by name" all the icons move to in between the 2 screens.
Is this a known bug?

Please try the purge and reinstall steps as mentioned in this guide :

Just to be sure, re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purge, reinstall using the latest you just download, reboot again. And retest.

Also, we need information on this :

1) Windows version, please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.

2) Fences version.

3) Those icons in your screenshot above, is on the desktop or within a Fence?

Hello,

There is a work around for your issue. Just set the Sort to "None" (Right Click on the desktop-> Sort by -> None) This will bring all the icons to the top left of your main monitor.

I am using the Steam version for this system.

I can however, Switch one of my regular Licenses over to this laptop and swap the Steam version to a different one.

There is no different in function between the steam version compare to the Direct purchase Stardock version. Have you tried the workaround I mentioned on Reply#5.

If yes, than the last step as shown in this video should reset the icons back to top left of your monitor. That is the steps as workaround steps I mentioned in reply#5 :

Not sorting by NAME, is NOT a viable solution, as I won't be able to find ANYTHING that way!

This is CLEARY a bug and should be remedied ASAP!

This works on Single monitors just fine and SHOULD work on Dule monitors as well!!

Yes, Sean, has noted the issue and I believe he has pass it on to Dev team. But, I can't tell you if and when it will be deal with.

As for me, if I have that many Icons on my desktop, I've move it all into a Fence or several Fences and be done with the issue.
