Fences bug forcing installations to minimise

Hi guys,

I've noticed a bug when I try to install a new program, the setup process stays permanently minimised.

I try to maximise it, alt+tab but the only solution is to restart my computer (works sporadically).

Anyone know of a fix?

Cheers

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But are talking about installation of Fences or Other application? More information needed.

1) Windows 10 version, please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.

2) Fences version.

3) More details on installation issues.

Thanks

Windows 10 ver 1909 (OS build 18363.752)

Fences Version 3.0.9.11

When I double click on a .exe to install a program, the setup stays minimised and I can't maximise it to press next and install

Hello,

Just to confirm, you click any installation program, and it goes to minimize. How do you think this has something to do with Fences?

Thank you,

I figured that fences would be showing/drawing on top on the installation?

I'll try disable my admin password on User Account Setting that is needed when installing apps and see if that helps tomorrow

Hello,

I don't think Fences can do that, since, fences only work on desktop level. It can't go in front of any windows.

Please try the purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall using the latest version you just downloaded. Reboot after the installation. Retest and report back.

Solved the problem!

Groupy was causing the issue. I changed some of the window grouping settings and it worked.

It seems that opening things after the UAC admin password prompt triggered groupy to minimize the current window (e.g. installation, cmd, regedit etc.)
