Disable Automatic but Symmetrical Snapping

Hello. I have just purchased Object Desktop and am currently configuring Fences according to my requirements. However, one thing I am having an issue with is icon snapping to a grid but IN A SYMMETRICAL FASHION.

For example, I am trying to group my gaming category into 3 sub groups using 3 columns; the first column should have 6 rows, the second 3 and the third 2.

However, when I create the fence or resize it, I end up with a mix and match of rows where columns 1 and 2 has 4 rows and column 3 has 3 rows.

Is there a way to turn this automatic symmetrical grouping off and allow me to group as I want?

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. At this moment, from what I know, Fences always arrange the icons Starting from top left and move right until the right border of the fences and continue on the left border second rows etc etc. And there is no option to disable this or choose another arrangement.

That's what I was afraid of. Oh well, I've create three Fences for now; I don't suppose you can "sub group" Fences either?

Hello,

Not really sure what you mean by "Sub Group" Fences?

Sorry. I mean multiple Fences within a parent Fence; so something like...

************   <- outer Fence
*   ******   *
*   *      *   *
*   *      *<*------sub Fence
*   *      *   *
*   *      *   *
*   ******   *
*               *
*   ******   *
*   *      *   *
*   *      *   *
*   *      *<*------sub Fence
*   *      *   *
*   *      *   *
*   ******   *
************

Hope that explains it better.

Okay, I understand. But sadly, no Fences can't do that.

I've had a further thought due to someone else posting about overlapping fences and perhaps this could be added as a feature request?
