Fences NOT working....

Hi, I got the full version of Fences many years ago. Just a couple of days ago, I downloaded and installed "Desktop Calendar" for Windows 10; https://download.cnet.com/Desktop-Calendar/3000-2072_4-75532611.html

Once I did this, Fences broke and won't work anymore. The fences are not visible, and while I have the option to create new fences on right-click, I cannot. I cannot organize anything in the area where the fence(s) are, and like I said, the fences don't display whatsoever. I've tried accessing Fences directly from the .exe in Programs, from the Start Menu, nothing works! Any idea why Stardock Fences is broken? Can it be fixed?

What version of Fences are you using with Windows 10? Fences 3 is the current supported version.

Chances are the desktop calendar app is not compatible with Fences.

Desktop Calendar is NOT for Windows 10 as stated on download page. Supported operating systems are Windows XP/Vista/Server 2008/7/8

@IslandDog: I have Stardock Fences 2. Do you know if it's a free update, or do I have to repurchase the program for the latest version?

@NeilBanfield: Why would the calendar app disrupt the Fences app? Even if they are vying for the same gfx interface, the CPU should be able to differentiate the two I'd think.

@Yrgal: My apologies for linking to C-Net instead of the official Desktop Calendar one, but my work has very strict internet search criteria. It is supported in W10: http://www.desktopcal.com/

I will look into getting the latest version of Fences to see if this fixes the issue, and update here either way. Thank for the replies.

EDIT: Still not working. I just purchased the entire software suite for $29 and updated to Fences 3.0 and it's still *NOT* working. I don't want to lose my calendar app >:( as it's the best one I found after downloading and installing about 6 different ones and populating them with data over the course of several weeks. I'd prefer this issue is fixed and resolved so I can use Fences once again! Besides, I cannot guarantee any other calendar apps I install won't have the same issue...

It very much sounds like the calendar app is replacing the desktop to achieve what it does.  This would be likely to be incompatible with Fences as they would both be trying to override painting and clicks on the desktop.

Yes, this does seem to be the case. I found out I can use Google Calender as a stand-alone app on the desktop app outside of Chrome and it's working great, and I get to use Fences so, it all worked out.
