Love the concepts - HATE the speed

I just purchased Object Desktop.  I liked the variety of tools that I thought would help tame my system.  I am a software architect and have been been for 30+ years.  I have very fast hardware consisting of i9 (9thgen), 49" monitor amongst 5 monitors, 128GB memory ...

I loaded up fences to start and that is probably the biggest culprit.  Windows explorer CPU usage went to 5 - 30% none stop but the user experience was dog slow.  Moving the fences was jitter and oh so painful, taking many seconds for each stutter.

I pursued and all of the apps work but they are slow.  I did not look to see what they were written in but it seems like VBScript when I would expect c++.  I am not trying to be negative because I like the ideas you addressed.

If I can't resolve this, I would expect a refund.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please check with this guide on multi-monitors : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#multimonitor

And try the cleanboot steps to check if there is conflict with other software : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#cleanboot

Try it and report back.

Thanks

None of the products are written in VBScript :)

In fact all of them are either C++ or C# depending on the part of the app.

Some apps will use more, for example expect higher cpu usage for Deskscapes purely because animating things uses cpu cycles.

Fences speed is directly proportional to the number of the icons on the desktop and this is due to some inefficient code in explorer for icon movement.  You don't usually see this because you never move icons around like that.

How many icons do you have on your desktop?
