Things We Spoil Ourselves With
The little things that make life more comfy for you
What is the one thing you buy for yourself that you simply must have?
Mine? Soft sheets. Cotton Sateen. I adore them. The more you wash, the softer they get. I can not stand scratchy sheets and blankets. I must be comfy to sleep. Unless I am dog tired.
For food items. I always splurge to have A-1. The off brand steak sauce does not cut it. Not that I use a lot of it mind you. But my messy
sandwiches don't taste right without real A-1. Also, real butter. None of that fake stuff.
What are messy sandwiches? You have to like roast beef. Take the roast beef, put in a frying pan with butter. Add A-1 and get it all mixed in. Then add cheese. I use provolone. Let the cheese melt some, mix that in and put on your choice of bread. If you don't need a couple napkins to eat this thing, you didn't do it right. If you're a meat lover, this is a good lunch. Fast. Easy. Tasty.
So. Tonight was nasty outside. I hear tomorrow may not be so pleasant either. But I don't care. I have tomorrow off. Thank you! I am just tired and sick now. I need a day to recoup. In fact, tomorrow (Or later today) I am sleeping in. It's 3 AM. I'm still on Thursday.
My friend Shell was up from Arkansas. Her grandma died. Sad. But probably for the best. She had Alzheimer's pretty bad and she broke her hip twice. She'd have days where she thought she still had to work. (She was a bus driver) and she'd yell at the guys to get out and milk the cows that they no longer had. Thankfully, she didn't have to have a full care nurse. She kept her physical abilities. Her mind was just going.
Shell is funny. Without trying sometimes. She's kinda a klutz. It's funny to watch her roam around the room sometimes. If there's something to step on, she'll find it.
So, it was nice having her back if only for the night.
Well. It's getting to the point where I'm now tired. The NyQuill I took may have something to do with that.
Take care of yourselves out there.
