We have a pending update for this.

That's great but when?? I used that box all the time and it not being there really sucks.

The latest release of WindowBlinds resolved this for me.

Two days ago I installed Windows 10 1909, over 1903 (not clean install, just update). After that, search box in Explorer was broken for me too, but I finally SOLVED it by simply uninstalling WB and installing it again! Probably some files or settings, required for WB to function correctly, were "wiped out" by the 1909 installation and the re-installation put them back again. That also may happen for some other programs, after every bi-annual Win10 update.

I have it installed and the box is back. However, it stops allowing input after a while. I have no way of knowing what is triggering it. The search box simply does not acknowledge my clicks. Restarting fixes it.

You can go into Windowblinds config from the taskbar go to set per program, find explorer in the C:\windows folder click on it and click on the top checkbox to not skin explorer. I found this to be a good workaround for several issues.

This may well be nothing to do with WB.

I uninstalled WB and the issue has yet to happen. Also before the little square issue started I never had an issue.

I am liking the simpleness of Curtains so I will not be using WB. Problem solved.
