windows 10 v1903 and fences frozen

from Stardock Forums

I have installed multiple times.

v3.0.9 fences, latest version downloaded.

sfc/scannow done

Purge bat file done.

Install as admin.

compatability mode install done.

New user profile , the same issue.

clean boot in new user profile, same issue.

Install on windows 7- ZERO problems.

This is a windows 10 thing you have here, needs fixing.

Hello again,

I would say it is not Windows 10 specific problem, since if it really is, we should have more report on it from others including me since I just update my pc to Win10 from v1809 to v1903 just a few days ago and Fences run on it without any problem. I believe this is more into your own unique system.

I'm also experiencing regular Fences freezes/crashes after I upgraded Windows 10 to v1903.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you done the purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

Please re-download the latest version from you account. Reinstall that version. Reboot and retest. Report back here.

There were several different issues. Freezing, couldn' drag icons into fences, all fences reset to default after every reboot. I've spent more than a few hours trying to figure this out, feeling like a beta tester, but will try again at some point when new builds see the light of day. All other Stardock apps (WB, IP, CursorFX, DS, Start10) work fine, so I can live with it.

I purged and re-installed. Then after I finished setting up my fences again, it took 3 seconds before it crashed again.
