Fences Label font issue.

Truetype font not being recognised

Hi,

I know there are already 3 - 5 threads for this kind of issue. (INB4 someone tells me to go look at them. I already have looked at a few and some are having similar issues to myself but not the exact same.)

I recently reinstalled W10 after changing out my drives. I reinstalled fences and restored a snapshot of my old setup after reinstalling the main font I was using for it. (The font is Vermin Vibes. It is a TTF and registers as one in Windows Fonts.)

Upon restoring the config my labels show as blank unless I change the font. However the font worked just find beforehand and is installed properly in windows. (Works on Notepad, Wordpad, Paint, ATOM.IO, PS CS6 etc)

Does anyone know what might be causing this issue?

Screenshots below.

Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,

1st = Old snapshot. 2nd = Windows Fonts 3rd = Fences label font changer.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I can reproduce this issue on my system, but, on my system, I can apply the font just that I lost all my label, all my Fences is labelless. My guess is that this font is not compatible with Fences. Anyway, I have forwarded your problem to Stardock Support team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thank you,

Just thought I'd add an update.

After having another issue with my new drive, I had to reinstall windows. After doing so I reinstalled all of my fonts (after windows updates/drivers/programs) and decided to retry Fences with the font again.

It seems to be working fine now, is it possible a copy of my appdata (saved config of fences) might of caused the issue? As I normally copy the majority of my appdata (to preserve configs/settings and save time on redownloading certain files) to my new windows installs.

Havn't come across a conflict like this before however I don't know the backend code for Fences.

Hard to say as we could not get that font to work either.

I had a similar problem, after the update W10 did not want to start and had to reinstall. After that, the fonts were deleted, which I had installed a long time ago and I could not restore them in any way. A friend advised me to look for them here https://upfonts.com/thinking-of-betty-font/ since there are a lot of different fonts here and I had to find the ones I had. In the end, I found them quite quickly and was able to install them. To be honest, I'm already a little tired of the fact that such bugs sometimes happen in W10 and then you have to spend time restoring everything.
