I have a new toy too. I have a Compaq comp with Wins XPeeeeeeeeeeeee! Finally, I have WinBlinds 4. It is smoooooooooooooth & fun to use.

One of these days I will get me a new laptop but this one works great for what I need it to do.

Maybe you could try Mandrake on it. I hear Mandrake has the best support for laptops.

Mandrake or Susie, both would scream on that cpu, mem and hd...

also there should be drivers for the hardware without a problem on linux sites.

I also have an old Acer 366 MHz /128 MB Notebook here with W98SE installed I play with from time to time. Actually it was build from 3 partly damaged notebooks I bought for nearly nothing.

I don't think we have to keep it positive. You put this in a public forum and thus if Hoppity wanted to say, "That notebook is a piece of junk" it is his right to do so. However, I concur what he said could have been said better.

You would be surprised what you could squeeze out of a P 166... Also if the unit gets trashed or stolen in your travels ... its no biggie.

Really? It seems that all a negative attitude does is call attention to you. So, in a sense, you must be annoying yourself, right? If you didn't want attention you wouldn't keep coming back here and posting.

The fact is, every time someone posts a message on any message board, they are seeking attention. What would be the point if we posted something without wanting a response?
