Fences crash after recent Windows 10 update

I have successfully used Fences and Start 10 Menu for several years. Last week I installed them on a new Dell and after a couple of days, and a Windows 10 upgrade, Fences stopped operating. My screen reverts back to the standard Window 10 desktop. I uninstalled and reinstalled Fences but get the same result. Any suggestions?
