Ethernet, firewall and hotkey issues

I have a couple questions about using Multiplicity KVM correctly:

1) I currently have two machines, one headless, connected to the Internet by wifi and connected to each other by a simple Ethernet cable. Both machines are calling the Ethernet connection "Unidentified network" -> public under Windows 10, which means I have to have the firewall deactivated for public networks. Would using an Ethernet router help correct this? I tried installing a free DHCP tool (tftdp64) on my primary, but that still gave me "Unidentified" on the primary and "Network 2" on the secondard -> no contact in Multiplicity.

2) Is there a firewall setting that will let me keep the firewall on and still permit Multiplicity through? It would be really nice with some clear documentation on issues like this.

3) I've found I can switch to the secondary either with Alt-Tab or with the Multiplicity hotkey, but to switch back requires first hitting the Multiplicity hotkey and then using the mouse to click "Return to primary." I sped this up a bit by defining an AutoHotKey script to click "Return to primary" and move the mouse back to where it was, and with the Multiplicity hotkey set to Alt-F12 and the AutoHotKey key set to F12 it's sort of OK, but is there any way to get around this two-step process without having to use the mouse?

4) Is there a way to have the secondary display on both my primary monitors in full screen mode (i.e. without going to windowed mode and stretching the window across both screens)?

Thanks for any help!

There is nothing 'wrong' with what you are doing but if you want both PCs to be part of the same network subnet, having a router would accomplish that.

Multiplicity creates it own rules in the Windows firewall - other third party (AV) firewall generally replicate that but may need manual entries if not.

Hotkeys are the only mouse shortcuts offered.

Not currently but it is being considered.

OK, thanks for the advice. Looking forward to future improvements (full screen across multiple monitors).
