Fences are repostioned and resized at every restat of Windows 10

Hello, I use Fences since several years but since update my laptop to Windows 10 I have following problem:

When I restart the laptop alle fences appear moved to other position and a little bit smaller so that some icons in the fences are hidden and i have to use the srollbar to go to this icons.

My convertible-laptop has a Monitor which ist normally not docked. Normally i use my 2 external Monitors connected vie USB-Hub.
Alle fences are only at the first externel monitor which is has 1920x1200 pxels and is defined as the main monitor.
After restart the main monitor has still a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels.

In Settings / Layout&Snapping / Layout auto-Adjustment a have the option "Store my Fences posistion on a per-screen-resolution basis.
In Settings / Layout&Snapping / Snapping/Spacing all 3 options are switched off

I tried the option to make "Layout snapshots". When the fences are moved after restart and i choose to restore a stored snapshot the fences shortly move in the right position and right size but then change back to the wrong position and size it got after the restart.

Sometimes when i plugout the 2 external monitor und plugin them after some seconds the fences are back to the optimal position and size.

How can i solve this irrating problem ?

Sincerely
Wolfgang

Could you share a video of that problem, where it show up at the correct position for some seconds and shift to its wrong position after that.

Thank you,

Hello, thanks for the video. But I do believe there is a problem with Monitor with USB type connector from few reports on it before.

The Problem appaers after the update from windows 8.1 to windows 10. Before there was no problem with the two Monitor via USB-Hub.

I am having the same problem after updating from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Each time I reboot, the fences disappear or move around. My desktop files are no longer accessible on the desktop. :-(

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Not sure on how you did the update from Windows 7 to 10. If it was done by direct update. I would suggest to do the purge and reinstalled on Fences. By using these steps : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

Just make sure to re-download the latest installer from your account.  Reinstall that version after the purge and reboot. Reboot again after the installation is done and retest it. Report back here.

Thanks
