Forcepoint and Fences

Hey, Any news about this?

I have tried fences 2 and 3, tried Application bypass in forcepoint management, tried multiple versions of Forcepoint Endpoint, nothing works.

Thanks.

Hello,

tried Application bypass in forcepoint management

What does that look like - what files and such are you 'white-lising'.  I would like to know more about the process for doing so if you have documentation / links of how this is done in Forcepoint.

Tha said, the problem could be that Fences runs in the Win Explorer process.  Perhaps an exclusion (just as a test) of Windows Explorer itself (if possible - again, I have no idea how the exclusion process in Forcepoint works) could yield some interesting results.

that unfortunately, could be our biggest problem.

this is the only documentation I found on the matter https://www.websense.com/content/support/library/web/hosted/admin_guide/ep_bypass.aspx. not much details.

the bypassing is a global setting. meaning - If I do whitelist explorer.exe my whole organization will have that proccess whitelisted...

I can see how that might be an issue but is it testable in your environment - even if just for a short time?  That if you whit-list WinExp, that the Fences issue is gone?

Appreciate the feedback and any effort you can help us with here.  While Forcepoint is not seen in any quantity in our corp Fences deployments,  its conflicts with Fences has been a small small thorn in our side.
