Fences not seeing new File

I installed Fences and set up Folders with folders I use often.  Later, I downloaded a new pdf file into a folder.  I did it manually.  The main folder sits in Fences.  When I click on it, Fences open the larger folder and I go to and open the small folder I put the new pdf file into.  It doesn't show.  It's not there.  The rest are there, but it's not showing the new one in the folder.

When I manually go into my computer and open the folders, the file IS there, and functioning.  What's happening?  Why doesn't Fences see the new downloaded file in the folder?

Doesn't work.  I've noticed and traced the Folders in Fences.  The Path to my file in Fences is C:\Users\Owner\Desktop\Fences.  In Explorer, the path to the file is Data\Papers\Bank\Personal\File.  There are two different folders in different places.   Changing the folder in Fences does not make any changes in the Explorer Folder, which is the real, actual folder, and vice versa.  Which is useless.

To put the Folder in Fences, I am opening Fences and Explorer and dragging the Folder from Explorer into Fences.  It seems to copy ALL my subfolders and files into Fences, but no change in the Explorer folder registers in the Fences version after the initial move; two different folders.  Am I doing it wrong?  How?

Also, dragging shortcuts of folders into Fences pops up the right Explorer path - folders and files, and changes.  But that's not what Fences promises.

S'up?  Thanks ...

Hello,

Sorry to hear you having issues. But, that is not how to do it. The way you did that will make Windows create a copy of that original folder on your desktop and link that desktop folder in that fence you drag it into. That folder is on your desktop and its will not update it content if you add new files into that original folder.

What you should do is create a portal fences and link that fences to your folder at it original portal.

Here a simple Stardock's video on Fences. There a simple section on Portal Fences.
